About the Artist- Paul C. Stauffer III was born and raised in Altoona. Paul’s father, a retired railroad employee and local folk historian, gave him a unique perspective on the area and its heritage. While at Altoona Area High School, Paul took every available art course and was involved in set painting for Altoona Community Theater.
After graduation from high school in 1980, he attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. In 1989 he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a special concentration on drawing and graphic design. Staying in the Altoona area, Paul worked for Midstate Tool and Supply Inc., The Altoona School District and News Printing Company. With each new job he improved and expanded his graphic art and media skills. Presently, he is a highly experienced graphic artist and media designer. Although much of his work involves computer graphic media he still maintains a connection to his roots in traditional media and drawing.
